Konradfest finale

Chapel of the Resurrection, Straß im Attergau
The end of the Konrad Festival leads to a quiet, special place: In the Chapel of the Resurrection in Straß im Attergau, a world premiere by composer Michael Hazod for solo guitar can be heard with es ruht.
Inspired by texts by Kurt Tucholsky and Friedrich Hölderlin, the work revolves around moments of transition and pause - around that "fifth season" in which time and movement seem to stand still for a moment. Four notated sections, each leading into free improvisations, open up a musical space between structure and openness.
Michael Hazod, born in Wels in 1954 and raised in St. Georgen, has made a name for himself as a composer, guitarist and long-standing promoter of new music in Upper Austria. The world premiere will be performed by Austrian guitarist David Volkmer, who, in addition to the classical repertoire, devotes himself intensively to contemporary music and regularly performs new works.
With es ruht, the Konradfest deliberately emphasizes new music - a central component of the festival.
Musicians from Italy were in great demand throughout Europe in the 16th to 18th centuries and many Italian musicians made the journey across the Alps. A favourite destination was the court in Innsbruck, the hub of Europe's musical elite. But many musicians from north of the Alps also travelled to Italy to see the latest developments in music. The programme "Attraverso le Alpi" describes a musical journey from Florence to Innsbruck with music by composers who - in one direction or another - crossed the Alps.Duo Hypotenusa:
