In desperation, hopelessly unsuccessful actor Michael Dorsey goes to an audition dressed as a woman for the role of the wet nurse in a new musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. But when he actually gets the part as "Dorothy Michaels," the problems are just beginning. Actually, his neurotic girlfriend Sandy had speculated on the role, director Ron is a macho man with horrible staging ideas, reality star Max has a thing for more mature women, and colleague Julie seems extremely attractive to Michael (and Dorothy?). Can Michael only become a better man as a woman?
