Forest kingdom: The forest and us!

The forest is an important part of our lives, whether as a home for a variety of species, a place of longing for people, an object and subject of art and natural science or as a resource.

The exhibition "Waldreich. The Forest and Us!" focuses on the complex and changing relationship between man and the forest from the beginning of the Stone Age to the present day using objects from the collections of the Province of Upper Austria. It invites visitors to approach the topic with all their senses. How we humans view and treat the forest tells us a lot about our relationship with nature in general. Designed as a family exhibition, it deals with the following questions: How has the forest changed? How does it inspire people and what current research is being carried out on this topic? The exhibition offers many opportunities to actively and participatively engage with the topic of forests. The family exhibition "Waldreich. The forest and us!" is accompanied by a comprehensive cultural education program.
