Between 1970 and 1977, Walter Bernhard devoted himself intensively to photography - a creative phase that kept him very busy for several years. After moving to Upper Austria with his wife Anneliese, he briefly turned to nature photography - the results of which he is still critical of today. His artistic self-image always remained that of a self-taught urban photographer, who today would probably be assigned to the broad field of street photography.
