The winter event highlight from the Almtal, "Der Kasberg kocht" will take place again in the 2025/26 winter season and will spoil you with culinary delights, music and top slopes on Saturday, March 7, 2026 .
Together with the Kasberg hut owners, we will cook, rock and party on the Kasberg on this day!

For the ninth time, there will be a gourmet ski experience in the family ski area in the middle of the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut.

Use public transportation with the offers of the OÖVV!

To ensure that the snow and culinary fun on the Kasberg in the Traunsee-Almtal region can start stress-free and environmentally friendly, we recommend traveling by public transport. This way, the winter culinary experience on the Kasberg can start in a relaxed manner, without annoying traffic jams and without having to search for a parking space.

Public transportation to the 9th Hütten-Gourmet-Tour on the Kasberg

The public transport journey is just as varied as the program on the Kasberg for 7 March 2026. In addition to culinary and musical highlights, the Kasberg is also well connected to the public transport network (à accessible by train from Linz or Wels to Grünau and the ski bus lines 533 and 534).

You can find the best connections easily and with just a few clicks in the OÖVV route planner app. Here's how it works: Simply enter your starting point and destination and the best route to Kasberg by public transport will be calculated for you!

In addition, the Kasberg winter shuttle takes you free of charge from Laakirchen via Scharnstein, Grünau station directly to the valley station of the Kasberg ski area, as do the OÖVV bus lines mentioned above from Gmunden via St. Konrad and Grünau.

With the Almtalbahn from Wels and Linz , you have the option of changing to the winter shuttle at Grünau station.

This is how you get from Linz or Wels to "Der Kasberg kocht":
From Linz main station directly at 7:22 am to Grünau im Almtal arrival at 8:55 am, connection to the bus at 9:00 am or for those who want to sleep a little longer departure at 8:26 am with the Westbahn or at 8:30 am with the ÖBB Railjet to Wels, change to the Almtalbahn, departure at 8:50 am in Wels, arrival in Grünau im Almtal at 9:55 am. Connection with the Kasberg winter shuttle at 10:00 am to the valley station.

This is the way back home:
Kasberg Wintershuttle at 16:50 to Grünau im Almtal station, take the Almtalbahn at 17:07 to Wels, change to the Railjet and you're in Linz by 18:30. The Kasberg winter shuttle continues via Scharnstein to Laakirchen.

Special trip Kasberg Wintershuttle at approx. 19:48 to Grünau im Almtal station, with the Almtalbahn at 20:07 to Wels, change to the Railjet and you arrive in Linz at 21:30.

SPECIAL SPECIAL: The ideal ticket for a day trip is the Freizeit-Ticket OÖ.

The most important facts about the Freizeit-Ticket OÖ summarized:

• Price: € 26.50
• One ticket is valid for up to two adults and four children under the age of 15 for any number of journeys on the day of validity. However, the ticket can also be used alone or as a couple.
• Period of validity: From Mon-Fri from 09:00 and Sat/Sun/Public holiday all day until 03:00 on the following day on all public transport in the entire Upper Austrian public transport network, including the entire Salzkammergut region in the province of Salzburg.
• The following can be used: all city transport, regional buses, Stern & Hafferl local trains and all ÖBB local and regional trains (S-Bahn Upper Austria, regional train, Regional Express) in the Upper Austria region and the entire Salzkammergut (Upper Austria + Salzburg).
• Cannot be used: Long-distance trains (lnterCity-Express, lnterCity, EuroCity, EuroNight, D-Zug, Railjet, Railjet Express, Nightjet, Westbahn) and the Pöstlingbergbahn in Linz.
