Heritage Day at the Geyerhammer Scythe Museum

At the Scythe Museum, the 400-year-old tradition of scythe-making in Scharnstein comes back to life. Using faithfully preserved blacksmith’s hammers, former blacksmiths demonstrate the fine art of scythe-making.
You’ll also gain comprehensive insights into the working world and social life of the scythe smiths, as well as the rapid rise of the Redtenbacher company to become the largest scythe manufacturer in the Danube Monarchy until its closure in 1987.
