Sunday music in the salon

Since 1999, the "Sunday Music in the Salon" series has offered a varied and harmonious program at a time convenient for the audience in the ballroom of the Francisco Carolinum.

Founded more than a quarter of a century ago, “Sonntagsmusik im Salon” has established itself under the direction of its curator, Prof. Dr. h. c. Anton Voigt, as a high-caliber concert series that is consistently very well attended.

It will now continue in the same spirit: The program consists primarily of chamber music, sometimes in standard ensembles such as string quartets or piano trios, sometimes in more unusual formations, and occasionally featuring solo performances. The series draws from the wealth of time-honored chamber music treasures, while also presenting lesser-known works and contemporary compositions.

Young ensembles will be given a stage just as much as those that have been around for many years.
