Opening of the 14th BachZeit in Mondsee

The BachZeit festival in Mondsee is now in its 14th year—and remains true to what it has always been: a vibrant hub for music, connection, and shared experiences. The focus here is not only on Johann Sebastian Bach, but also on what his music continues to inspire today: a sense of community, exchange, and inspiration.

The festive festivities kick off on Sunday, August 9, at 8:00 p.m. with the opening concert “Fear Not.”
The program features the cantata “Wo soll ich fliehen hin” ( BWV 5 ), the motet “Fürchte dich nicht” (BWV 228 ), and the chorale cantata “Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten” (BWV 93).

As a dazzling highlight, the Second Brandenburg Concerto will also be performed—a fireworks display of Baroque virtuosity.

All works will be performed according to historical performance practice by a top-tier ensemble:
Christian Simeth (Baroque trumpet), Gabriel Gramesc (Baroque oboe), Bálint Kovács (recorder), and Maria Holzer-Graf (Baroque violin), as well as the soloists Maria Ladurner (soprano), Johanna Rademacher (alto), Nikolaus Pfannkuch (tenor), and Benjamin Sattlecker (bass).
