Kaiserbummel – an Imperial Stroll

In Bad Ischl, the guest is KING! When Bad Ischl rolls out the red carpet for you on 16 August 2025, the town wants to say one thing above all: Everywhere the customer is king. With us, however, he is Emperor!

On this memorable day, it's all about staying on the 2.5-kilometre-long carpet that leads past the town's trendiest shops. While you parade through the idyllic alleyways and streets of Bad Ischl, you will be accompanied by a supporting programme that plays all the (art) tunes. Street artists, jugglers and musicians line the red carpet and perform their tricks.


Programme:

• 7.00 am, Kurhausstraße: Small Imperial Flea Market
• 10.00 am, Trinkhalle meeting point: Special guided tour "Villas in Bad Ischl"
• KI-ser - Bad Ischl will once again become the residence of Emperor Franz Joseph I this summer in the form of an interactive painting of the former monarch. Visitors can meet the emperor in the town centre and talk to him as part of the Kaisertage 2024. Visiting times: In front of the Trinkhalle from 15.8. to 18.8. from 9 am - 5 pm
• 10.00 am, children's programme Kurpark: giant slide and small bouncy castle
• 10.00 am, Küchenkastl, KFJ-Straße 11: The association "Ich bin Ich" makes "Bochane Meis" (traditional yeast pastries) in front of the Küchenkastl. All proceeds will be donated to Salzkammergut residents with disabilities; until 5.00 pm, no registration, no costs; www.kuechenkastl.at
• 10.00 am, Casino Keller (Grazerstraße 16): Time travel through the oldest beer cellar in Bad Ischl, duration approx. 1 h, admission: € 10.00, children up to 10 years free; www.casino-keller.at
