Our generational farm is a nature-friendly permaculture self-sufficient farm to experience. The former four-sided farm, whose origins date back to the 17th century, is located in Schwarzenberg in the Bohemian Forest in the tri-border region of Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic. From 2022 to 2025, the farm was renovated with permaculture principles in mind and is now a place for family, friends, and like-minded individuals to laugh, learn, and live according to permaculture principles: Earth Care, People Care, Reduce and share.
The renovated residential building has cozy rooms for overnight stays, a large common room with a tiled stove, a yoga room, and a grilling area in the courtyard. We have a large permaculture self-sufficient garden with different bed shapes for growing vegetables, fruits, berries, salads, herbs, and flowers, as well as a large traditional orchard. We keep various animals such as chickens, cats, and some sheep from April to November. The generational farm is adjacent to the Schwarzenberg outdoor pool, as well as close to many hiking destinations in the Bohemian Forest and the Hochficht ski area.
