Amedia becomes DeHo
The Dormero Group will open its fourth hotel in Austria and the 59th worldwide in Linz at the turn of the year 2025/2026. The former Amedia hotel with 97 rooms located at Prinz-Eugen-Straße 12 in Upper Austria will be operated as DORMERO DeHo Linz from January 2026.

All good things come in threes
So far, the expansion in Linz has not been successful - in 2014, another interested party was awarded the contract for the hotel at Domplatz, and the construction project from 2019 on Sophiengutstraße was completely canceled due to Corona and the construction crisis. With the purchase of the property on Prinz-Eugen-Straße by investor Dr. Ben Dahlheim, from the current owner Soravia Group, the way is finally clear on the third attempt.

Persistent growth
CEO Manuela Halm is pleased that the group is now represented in all three major metropolitan areas in Austria: “We are happy to be located in Upper Austria now. Linz is the industrial location and lifeblood of Austria. We are very much looking forward to the region and the people there. We have fought long and hard for this.” Investor Dahlheim, who is both the chairman of the supervisory board of DORMERO and half-Austrian, adds: “I spent half of my childhood in Linz, and I met my girlfriend here. It’s great that we are now represented there as well. With Graz, Vienna, Tyrol, and now Linz, we are just at the beginning of our expansion in Austria. At least 10 locations are planned.”
