THROUGH THE BUCHWALD | INNVIERTEL exercise arena

Experience a varied and panoramic hike through the picturesque Buchwald forest in Wippenham! This hike takes you on an idyllic route of around 6 km through the charming landscape of the Innviertel region and offers a perfect combination of nature, tranquillity and panoramic views.

The starting point of the hike is the village center of Wippenham. From here, follow the well-signposted route in the direction of Buchwald, an idyllic wooded area that is particularly colorful in autumn. The route initially leads over gentle hills and through wide fields, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside.
After about 2 km, you reach the entrance to the Buchwald forest. The dense mixed forest offers pleasantly cool shade in summer and is home to a variety of native plants and animals.

With its well-maintained paths, the forest invites you to take a peaceful stroll. Several places along the route offer wonderful views over the Innviertel region. On a clear day, you can see as far as the foothills of the Alps.

Connecting trail to Kirchheim: At the western end of the Buchwald forest, you have the option of continuing your hike and following the connecting trail to Kirchheim. The route extends your tour through the rural idyll and leads past more forests and fields.

The route is easy and suitable for hikers of all ages. The trail leads mainly along soft forest paths and easily accessible field paths. With gentle ups and downs, the tour offers a pleasant change of pace and numerous views. The tranquil atmosphere of the Buchwald forest makes the hike particularly relaxing, while the open fields in between open up far-reaching views of the Innviertel region.
