The smaller version of "Rund um den Hausruckwald" starts and ends in Ampflwang.
Immerse yourself in bygone times in the former mining town of Ampflwang and cross the ridge of the Hausruck (always along the 251 marker) to Hohenzell in the Innviertel. The Antiesenweg R23 leads from there to Haag am Hausruck, where the route changes to the "Haager Lies - Geh- und Radweg". Before reaching Gaspoltshofen, route 252 branches off to the south-west together with the V1, soon reaching the next places with a mining tradition - first Kohlgrube and then, always ascending, Wolfsegg am Hausruck - a first-class viewing balcony and a base for the 2023 Garden Time. The route descends rapidly, well-maintained goods roads lead to Atzbach, where route 256 branches off to the west. A detour to the nearby Pettenfirsthütte is always recommended. In Ainwalding, the 251 markings are reached again and the route leads northwards via Zell am Pettenfirst back to the starting point in Ampflwang.
A variant without "mountain rating" leads via Friesam and the BioApfelHof Stögermayr in Litzlfeld past Wolfsegg to the east.
Highlights: ÖGEG railway and mining museum - Ampflwang locomotive park with playground, mining monuments, Wolfsegg viewpoint, Pettenfirsthütte hut
