Description:
Even the start of the hike at the Scheiblingau parking lot along the Krummen Steyrling is worth a trip: the valley got its name from the so-called "Bodinge" (erosions in the rock of the streams).

After approx. 30 minutes you reach the "Jägerhaus" snack station If you want to fortify yourself before the ascent, you are welcome to stop here in the large garden or in the cozy parlor. The hunting lodge of Count Lamberg is enthroned slightly above - guided tours with the national park ranger are an experience!

But now continue on trail no. 472 a, always uphill on a former "Salzträgersteig" trail up to the Schaumbergalm. Idyllically situated on the alpine pasture between the peaks, it greets hikers and mountain bikers from afar.

The well-deserved stop at the hut host Waltraud's is a real treat! Here, guests are spoiled with hearty dishes from the alpine kitchen.

For a cozy end to this beautiful hike, you can plan another stop at the Jägerhaus in the valley. In any case, you will return home full of wonderful impressions!
