Description:
The attractive excursion destination for those seeking recreation, consisting of 4 family-friendly circular hiking trails with 16 stations for games and information, will be accessible from early summer. The mascot "Steini" accompanies you on the hikes, tells you about Steinbach a. d. Steyr and explains the various play and hiking possibilities in the easy terrain.

The circular hiking trails are located in the immediate vicinity of the village centre, are largely barrier-free or suitable for prams (except for the water trail) and can be walked in 45 to a maximum of 90 minutes.

Directions:
Circular trail 1: Messererweg - "Harnessing energy" (0.8 km)

In the historic center of the village, the circular trail allows you to take a trip into Steinbach's history and at the same time experience the present and future of energy production. Experience stations: Messerer Museum on the banks of the Steyr River, modernized Energie AG power plant, old craftsmen's alley and town square with revitalized houses.


 


Circuit 2: Water trail - "Making energy flow" (2.5 km)


Starting from the historic center, the circular route leads along the banks of the Steyr. It allows insights into the Steyr Gorge from various vantage points and at the same time direct contact with the water of the Steyr again and again. Experience stations: Deceleration place directly on the banks of the Steyr, lookout rocks.
Attention: The waterway is not barrier-free throughout!


 


Circuit 3: Power trail - "Recharge your batteries" (4.5 km)


Starting from the turbulent waterway, the circular trail leads along the edge of the Steyr Gorge through the Steinbach recreation area across meadows and forests to the Kraftplatz. The prevailing tranquility and idyllic landscape make it possible to recharge and switch off. This experience is enhanced by various stations: Energy game, energetic power place, balancing discs.... 


 


Circuit 4: High trail - "Experience energy" (5.5 km)


Continuing from the water path via the power path, the high trail leads uphill to a glacial gravel terrace high above the settlement area. It offers breathtaking views of the panorama of the Kalkalpen National Park and the Steyrtal region. Experience station: viewing platform.
