Urban circular route from the town square through the Enge, then up to Werndlpark, past the museum station to Christkindl and over the Wehrgraben, through the Schnallentor over the Tabor down to the Rederbrücke, cross it and along the Enns over the Neutor back to the town square.

Description:

Your path leads you from the town square to Lamberg Castle, continuing over the promenade and through the castle park, past the museum station to the pilgrimage church Christkindl. Through the Unterhimmler Au and Fabrikstraße as well as the Wehrgraben you reach Michaelerkirche and over the Schnallentor to the Tabor. Down to the Rederbrücke, along the paddler's path, over the Schönauerbrücke, through the Neutor back to the starting point.

Take enough time for this hike to historically significant places, enjoy the nature in the Unterhimmler Au with its floodplain forests or dry grasslands with rare plants. Perhaps you will also see a kingfisher on the Steyr.


Your path takes you from the town square through the Enge and from the Zwischenbrücken to Lamberg Castle, continuing over the promenade and through the castle park, past the museum station to the pilgrimage church Christkindl. Through the Unterhimmler Au and Fabrikstraße as well as the Wehrgraben you reach Michaelerkirche and over the Schnallentor to the Tabor. Down to the Rederbrücke cross it and hike along the paddler's path, over the Schönauerbrücke, through the Neutor back to the starting point.

Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - Steyr station: By train you reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and about 2.5 hours from Vienna.
