Starting and finishing point of the circular trail: Gasthaus Waldkellerei Bogner-Hager or Seminarhotel Kobleder Mettmach

The "Waldkellerei" Bogner-Hager offers, in addition to the regional menu and the quiet guest garden, a unique and highly interesting "treasure". The 1st Austrian scales museum and cider cellar. Landlord Günther collects scales in all shapes, sizes, colors and from all eras. A look at the 1st Austrian Scales Museum with over 400 scales is definitely worthwhile. Whether body scales, sack scales, kitchen scales or pharmacists scales, you will never cease to be amazed. Many details and the often curious stories surrounding the specimens make the visit even more exciting. The second passion of the owner of the house is the refining of fruit into delicious juices in his own historic cider cellar. Guided tours are available by appointment by phone +43 (0) 7755 5091.

From the parking lot you start on the right and walk 200 m on the not heavily used country road until you reach the Feldbacher crossroads. Here begins the light blue marked "345 Adelsberg path". It leads uphill on beautiful and well-maintained meadow and forest paths through the Adelsberg forest lined with blueberries to the village of Wasserdobl, 230 meters higher. This section of the trail is not suitable for strollers, but there is a variant suitable for strollers: from the turnoff towards Adelsberger court, stay on the side road and follow it to the village of Wasserdobl.

In Wasserdobl, the Höhwirt inn (tel. +43 (0) 7755 5454) invites you to take a break with refreshing drinks and sweet or sour Innviertler delicacies. The landscape around the inn, characterized by cattle farming and the typical Innviertel four-sided farms, presents itself in a dreamlike way. Amidst the well-tended meadows and fields, the view continues to roam over the tops of the Kobernaußerwald and lingers on the Dachstein, crowned with its white snow peaks, the Salzburg and Berchtesgaden mountains with its 2,713-meter-high Watzmann.

Tip: In order to explore the beauty of nature more closely and to be able to get "closer" to one or the other wild animal, binoculars should not be missing from your backpack.

In the village of Wasserdobl, you can take a 3 km longer trail loop through beech, spruce and larch forests to the Spercheneder Chapel. The chapel stands in a small clearing in the forest and invites you to pause for a moment. From there you climb down over gnarled roots and "ant trails" to the horse paddocks of the "Sun Horse Ranch" and then hike back uphill for a short distance (100 m) to Wasserdobl and from here the 5.5 km long Adelsberg circular trail leads back down into the valley.

This section of the trail, which is suitable for strollers, leads through the mixed forest to the "Adelsberger Kreuz". Here a bench invites you to linger and enjoy. The panorama panel provides an overview of the fertile Innviertel region with its green lungs, the Hausruck and Kobernaußerwald hiking paradise. The last two kilometers lead back to the starting point via meadow paths.

Tip: The outdoor pool on the outskirts of Mettmach offers refreshing cooling.
