Fornach

At the beginning of the Hausruck and Kobernaußerwald forests with a view of the mountain landscape of the Salzkammergut lies the recreational village of Fornach.

Picturesque Fornach is set at the foot of 730 meter high Fachberg, a small mountain in the expansive Kobernaußerwald uplands, and offers superb views of the Salzkammergut’s majestic mountains.

In good weather you can see all the way to the Salzburg and Bavarian mountains.

In winter Fornach offers a choice of beautiful hiking trails. Snow conditions permitting a cross-country ski track is groomed. Nearby St. Georgen offers curling and skating, and Salzburg's and Upper Austria's famous ski resorts are within easy reach.
