The Marienberg pilgrimage church, also known as the "Pearl of the Salzach Valley", is a gem.
On the way to Raitenhaslach, the colourful, twin-towered pilgrimage church of St. Maria Himmelfahrt in Marienberg greets you from a hill high above the river far into the countryside. It is also known as "the pearl of the Salzach Valley" and is considered one of the most beautiful rococo churches in Bavaria. The fact that this ecclesiastical gem is dedicated to St Mary becomes clear as soon as you climb the 53 steps. The first three symbolise faith, hope and love, the following 50 the prayer of the rosary. Please get in touch for more information.
