My name is Anita Bittner (formerly Kammerhofer) and I am a licensed physiotherapist in Steyr. In addition to my work in the outpatient department of LKH Steyr, I have my own practice at Sierningerstraße 91b. As an additional service, I offer home visits and spine groups.
After completing my secondary education, I initially studied sports science and prevention/recreation at the University of Vienna.
This was followed by various further training programs such as certification according to Kaltenborn/Evjenth, analytical biomechanics according to Sohier, FB according to Klein-Vogelbach, and Feldenkrais.
After the birth of my two sons, Tobias and Florian, I returned to LKH Steyr in 1999 and have since been responsible for post-stationary care of patients from accident, orthopaedic, and neurosurgery. I also treat the staff of LKH Steyr mostly prophylactically or preventively.
Furthermore, I have more than 20 years of experience as a self-employed physiotherapist, initially in the form of home visits, fitness studio, and spine gymnastics groups for companies and in the public sector. Another focus of my work since 2003 is craniosacral therapy and in 2005 visceral mobilization. Since 2010, I have also been running my own practice in Steyr!
My current treatment focus is on the practical concept of Spiral Dynamics.
PRACTICE for PHYSIOTHERAPY
As your expert in the musculoskeletal system, I have the experience to restore or improve movement functions lost due to an accident, inappropriate loading, or illness.
A precise medical history, examination, anatomical explanation using models, explanation of surgical reports, and behavioral training are important components of my work.
Spiral Dynamics
Gait and Running Analysis Concept
This is an active movement and therapy concept of the body
structured on the principle of a three-dimensional spiral screw.
This concept was developed by an expert team from the fields of medicine, physiotherapy,
sports, dance, and yoga.
In the therapy session, your body is observed as a whole from head to toe. With a
detailed movement analysis supported by video recordings, I will point out compensated
postural and movement patterns. These will be retrained with personalized exercises tailored to
you as a patient.
The goal is to implement the newly learned skills into everyday life. This leads to unloading of the joints and
an economical use of musculature and, in cases of pain issues, to pain reduction.
Due to the improvement of maximum stability, the concept has positive effects on
osteoporosis.
If the natural screw mechanism in movement behavior is lost, problems when walking
or running are pre-programmed.
Joints become constantly over-stressed and can ultimately stiffen. Ligaments and muscles
shorten, harden, or overstretch due to one-sided loading or too little movement – complaints and pain are the result.
The goal of this movement concept is to learn the most ideal form of movement for you when walking or
running.
In doing so, the body screws the pelvis in each step against each individual
thoracic vertebra and its ribs. The ribcage twists oppositely, resulting in the arm swing. This leads to balance and stability –> the open groin during
the outer spiral of the standing leg creates pre-stretching for the iliopsoas muscle and triggers the
step when walking or running. Through this twisting of the torso, all
organs are mobilized and massaged viscerally.
I would like to make the spiral twisting tangible for you in our joint work,
so that you can regain joy in your movements.

HOW TO GET TO YOUR THERAPY
As I am a registered therapist, there is a deductible that varies depending on the insurance provider. Additionally, in the case of accidents, private accident insurance covers the incurred deductible.
Step 1:
Visit your general practitioner and, if the doctor deems it necessary, obtain a prescription for physiotherapy (6 or 10 sessions of individual physiotherapy, each lasting 45 minutes).
Step 2:
Make an appointment by phone, email, or via form. Please bring your prescription with you. For 10 sessions, I will organize the necessary confirmation from your insurance provider (OÖGKK, SVS,…) - making it very simple and straightforward for you!
Step 3:
Please come to your first physiotherapy session in comfortable clothing; I will provide all other necessary items (towels, etc.).
Step 4:
Additionally, please bring any existing findings and images (X-rays, CT, MRI, etc.). Together, we will discuss this foundation and create a targeted therapy plan.
