Grabensee is a moorland lake and, at 131 hectares, the smallest of the three Trumer lakes. It is located in the north-west of the Trumer lake district and is part of the Salzburg Lake District. However, part of the Grabensee also extends into Upper Austria. The Grabensee was formed when the Mattig river drained away. It is up to 1.9 kilometres long, 800 metres wide and a maximum depth of 14 metres. It is important to know that the Grabensee is part of the Trumer Seen nature reserve and is a protected area where boating is prohibited.
