The KUMM disc golf course is one of the most beautiful places in the world to play disc golf.
The 18 holes are between 45 and 200 metres long and are spread over an area of around 12 hectares in two loops of 9 each. The design of the course is embedded in the unique landscape between forest, meadow and huge granite boulders.
The course can be played on all year round and is located around four kilometres west of the centre of St. Thomas on the property of wood sculptor Karl Buchberger. The 18 holes also form an open-air studio for the artist, who creates impressive wooden sculptures with his chainsaw.
The facility is located in the market town of St. Thomas am Blasenstein in the district of Perg in the Strudengau region. The sports facility is designed to host national and international tournaments and was subsidised with EU funds as a LEADER project in the Strudengau region.
There are 18 lanes around the course. The yellow arrows mark the first round of 9 holes. The red arrows describe holes 10-18 for the brave and advanced players. Click on the picture for a larger view.
Disc golf combines fun, sport and closeness to nature.
The game is played with a type of Frisbee - called a golf disc - on so-called disc golf baskets. The rules are simple: whoever has the fewest throws after completing all the holes is the winner!
Disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It is suitable for everyone aged 4 and over. Disc golf is trendy and attracts people, whether families, companies, schoolchildren or pensioners - everyone enjoys playing it. The rules are very simple (similar to mini golf or the well-known ball golf). Disc golf is a trend sport and leisure activity for everyone, with no age barrier - sport and fun in the great outdoors.
