The artist Cornelia Elisabeth Pilz has been involved with painting since her childhood

Cornelia was inspired by her grandfather and great-grandfather, who were both exceptional artists.

Great-grandfather Johann Pilz was Kapellmeister of the Salinenmusik Hallstatt (1906 - 1934) and had an absolute ear for music.
He corrected the musical scores of the great composers, such as Strauss, Brahms and Wagner, who spent many summers at the See Villa Franziska at Lake Hallstatt.

Grandfather Karl Pilz was also a successful bandmaster (1934 -1951) of the Salinenmusik Hallstatt with an absolute ear for music, who taught her how to draw.

Her uncle Hans Karl Pilz (1940 - 1999) was an Austrian opera singer (tenor) in Vienna.

Cornelia started with pencil portraits and later won first prize in an art competition at the age of 8 and 14 respectively.

After that, she specialised in watercolour painting and for a few years now, she has also been focusing on acrylic techniques.

In watercolour painting, she likes to be inspired by the beautiful area of the Salzkammergut.

Cornelia worked at the Bad Ischl District Court from 1985 to 2022 and finds her balance in painting, then as now. She also won two prizes in an art competition organised by the judiciary.

So far, the artist's exhibitions have increasingly taken place in Bad Goisern and Bad Ischl, but her works have also been exhibited in Gmunden, Hallstatt, Seewalchen am Attersee and also in Bad Reichenhall.

A small exhibition will take place in November 2022 in Salzburg at the Mark Art Gallery.

The artistic design of the product labels of the Rösslerei in the Weissen Rössl at Lake Wolfgang has also been the subject of her activities for several years.
