Treat yourself to a "real" piece of ostrich from the Mühlviertel
We Petra and Günter decided to start keeping ostriches on our farm in 2017, in addition to fattening cattle.
In species-appropriate husbandry and on large pastures, there are currently around 30 animals living with us. These are also available for viewing. Our idea was to be able to offer something UNIQUE from the region!
That's why we offer the following products from our farm:

- Eggs (empty & full)
- Egg liqueur
- Pasta (spelt and wheat)
- Meat (pre-order)

If you would like to know more about these animals, you are welcome to read on, here are a few interesting details:

- The ostrich is the largest existing bird on earth, but it cannot fly.
- Its sense of sight is impressive, it can see up to 3.5 kilometres.
- It can grow up to 3 metres tall and weigh 160 kg.
- Ostrich eggs have a diameter of approx. 15 cm, the content corresponds to approx. 25 chicken eggs.
- The incubation period is approx. 40 to 42 days.
- Ostriches peck at everything in their path, but are herbivores.
- Ostriches are herbivores.
