Blooming avenue island in Helpfau-Uttendorf

In 2020, the beekeeping association launched the "Blühende Alleeinsel" project. The start of the project also marked the beginning of a cross-generational cooperation between the Uttendorf Beekeepers' Association and the Uttendorf Primary School. The green space between two streams was planted with native wild flowers and wild shrubs and offers buzzing bees, wild bees, butterflies and other insects a colourful oasis that is home to a wide variety of butterflies. In addition to the school garden at VS Uttendorf, this area is also home to what is probably the largest communal raised bed in our region. Raising awareness and a love of nature and preserving biodiversity are at the forefront here.
On a walk or bike ride along the avenue between Helpfau and Uttendorf, the "flower strip" offers a colourful feast for the eyes for nature lovers as well as the opportunity to find out more about the topic of "bees" on a display board.
