In the centre of the market square stands the octagonal market fountain with the dates 1607 and 1716. The fountain used to serve the inhabitants of the market as a public water point. Today, there is a basin with drinking water on the south side of the fountain. The fountain is therefore still an inviting place to take a cosy break. Two plane trees were planted on either side of the fountain in 1898 to mark the 50th anniversary of Emperor Franz I Josef's accession to the throne. The impressive trees with a trunk circumference of around 4.5 metres and a height of 25 metres have been a natural monument since 1984.
