LEADER Region Fumo

The local action group (LAG) "FUMO" is a cross-border region with a total of 17 municipalities - 10 municipalities in the province of Salzburg (two of them from the former LAG Tennengau - Adnet and Krispl - and all eight municipalities in the Fuschlsee region) and 7 municipalities on the Upper Austrian side (REGMO Mondseeland without the municipality of Unterach). Both regions have already been active as Local Action Groups within the framework of LEADER. As part of LEADER 2014 - 2020, the two sub-regions will merge in order to achieve targeted, integrated and sustainable regional development with the best possible utilisation of the (also financial) resources of the municipalities. The 10 Salzburg municipalities are: Adnet, Ebenau, Faistenau, Fuschl am See, Hintersee, Hof bei Salzburg, Koppl, Krispl, Plainfeld and Thalgau. The 7 Upper Austrian municipalities are: Innerschwand am Mondsee, Mondsee, Oberhofen am Irrsee, Oberwang, Sankt Lorenz, Tiefgraben and Zell am Moos. The demarcation of the area is based on the geomorphological conditions and existing cooperation structures. The LAG is bordered to the east of Lake Mondsee by the narrow section to Lake Attersee. In the north, existing co-operations determine the boundaries. To the north-west, the LAG is spatially delimited from Flachgau by the Kolomansberg, the Heuberg and the Gaisberg. The region is also bordered to the south-west and south-east by the Osterhorn group. The Gaissau-Hintersee ski area means that there are strong functional links with Krispl and Adnet (both municipalities in the district of Hallein).
