The "Kulturplatzerl" with its sculpture park is located directly on the R4 Traun cycle path at the Traun-Pucking power station.
This site at Traunweg-Süd is one of the most important European fossil fish sites. During excavation work for the power station in 1980, construction workers came across numerous fossils, including the largest moonfish ever found.
The fish itself is now on display in the Schlossmuseum Linz, while the sculpture park at the site displays replicas of the moonfish and provides information on display boards about the enormous natural-historical significance of the finds. Seating is provided for anyone who wants to rest here and enjoy a relaxing time by the water.
