Panorama lift and viewing platform Steyr

Steyr, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The panoramic lift to the Tabor is the new highlight of the 1000-year-old city of Steyr.

The 35-metre height difference to the newly created viewing platform is overcome, half in the rock and half in the open air, in a glass cabin. From the top you can enjoy a wonderful panorama. The view extends over the medieval town centre, the confluence of the Enns and Steyr rivers to the mountains of the Kalkalpen National Park. In the future, a ride in the panorama lift will be a fixed point in every walk through Steyr.
The lift can be reached on foot from the town square in just a few minutes. The lift is reached through a historic tunnel, which was an air-raid shelter during the Second World War. It connects the historic old town with the Tabor district.
The panorama lift by architect Helmut Reitter also sets new standards in terms of design. It is at the same time a strong, self-confident symbol and yet minimised in design. Simplicity cannot generate more richness.
