The "House of Remembrance" was established in the entrance area of the former "Bergkristall" concentration camp tunnel system in St. Georgen an der Gusen.
As a modern and contemporary visitor centre, it houses a permanent exhibition on exploitation through forced labour. It also provides space for other exhibitions and contemporary history seminars for young people and adults. The House of Remembrance is the starting point for tours and forms the end of the audio memorial trail that leads here from the former Gusen camp. As a place of modern contemporary history research and communication, the House of Remembrance builds bridges in the sense of an active development of tolerance and human rights.
