The Geretsberg sawmill is a unique cultural asset and should be preserved as such for posterity.
It impressively shows visitors how difficult it once was to operate a sawmill. The old sawmill has been fully functional since 1929. Today, the historic facility is a show sawmill that is put into operation for registered groups. Schools can visit the project on excursion days and discover the history of the old frame saw. Craftsmen can also learn more about the technology used 100 years ago to process wood from tree to board. Annemarie Pinkelnig-Biribauer and Alois Esterbauer look forward to bringing a piece of history closer to their guests.
