10 years after the fall of the "Iron Curtain", part of the barbed wire fence was re-erected in 1999 next to the Nordwaldkammweg trail at the Guglwald border crossing in the municipality of Schönegg. Seven display boards deal with this dark part of European history. The memorial in Guglwald is a reminder of the once divided Europe. The project was initiated by the "Verein DenkStein Eiserner Vorhang" - until 2022 "Verein Mahnmal Eiserner Vorhang".
