GOLD BONNETS GIVE FESTIVITIES A SPECIAL GLAMOUR !
The Goldhaubengruppe not only lives by the motto "Bringing beauty to life", as it participates in church and public celebrations, but also supports financial, social and church-related causes. The Goldhauben group was founded in 1978 with ten women and four girls. There are currently several women (including those wearing headscarves) in the group.

The gold bonnet originated at the end of the 18th century in the Linz area. It was only worn by wealthy middle-class women and rich farmers' wives. The farmer had to pay the equivalent of a horse for it. Less wealthy women wore the black pearl bonnet. The black silk taffeta headscarf has only been known since the end of the 19th century. Girls wore a gold bonnet.

In courses, women embroidered gold bonnets, beaded bonnets and bonnets. Gold bonnets are very valuable, partly because of the value of the material and partly because of the many hours of labour required to make them. Of course, a corresponding gold bonnet dress made of silk is also required. Many of these dresses have been sewn in traditional costume sewing courses.

Activities of the group: Binding the palm bushes and herb bushes for the consecration, catering for people with disabilities and their carers in the parish hall (Malteser and Moserhof), agape after the parish confirmation, organisation of Herb Sunday with a celebration for jubilee couples, Binding the crown for the harvest festival followed by a parish café, "Marterlroas", participation in the cleaning of the church and the parish centre, baking doughnuts for various occasions, compiling the first Waldkirchen cookery book, producing a folder on small monuments,Embroidery courses for gold and pearl bonnets and gold bonnets, traditional costume sewing courses, traditional costume fashion show, traditional costume and handicraft exhibitions, Christmas tree and nativity scene exhibitions, which are organised together with the farmers' wives. Each Goldhauben woman makes her talents available to the group, so it is possible to organise many different activities in a relatively small unit.
