Anton Bruckner Symphony Trail

St. Florian, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • Suitable for groups

Actively experience Anton Bruckner's symphonies and understand them in a playful way - during a relaxed hike through the gentle hills of the Alpine foothills: all this can be enjoyed on the Anton Bruckner Symphony Hiking Trail between Ansfelden and St. Florian. In spring 2024, 11 experience stations were set up to offer a haptic and sensual approach to Bruckner's symphonic works. Small, interactive games encourage hikers to take a closer look at Anton Bruckner's life and analogue sound objects allow the public to experience aspects of his symphonies auditorily. The hublz app leads thematically into greater depth. Two avatars accompany visitors along the way. This makes the excursion destination more attractive for "Bruckner connoisseurs" and the curious, but also for a young audience. The complete route of the hiking trail leads from the Anton Bruckner Centre in Ansfelden to the interior of St. Florian Abbey. There is a start and finish station at these two locations and the trail can be walked in both directions. Here you will find general information about the hiking trail as well as a detailed hiking map to take away with additional information (de/en). Another folder contains all the texts of the trail stations in English translation. The hiking trail also offers two short destinations. These can be used for walks close to the respective locations. The stations along the way (Station 1, 1a, 2 near Ansfelden and Station 8, 9 near St. Florian) offer short interactions and compact knowledge. This gives hikers a thematic overview, even without walking the entire route. Near Ansfelden, station 1a serves as a vantage point over the centre of Linz. In the middle of the route is a station (Station P) dedicated to taking a break. It is sheltered from the sun in the forest and includes benches with a table.
