Lochen am See parish church
The high altar is a baroque masterpiece by the famous sculptor Meinrad Guggenbichler from Mondsee dating from 1709. The church was built in 1031 in honour of the "Assumption of Mary" with three altars and was altered, raised and extended many times between the 13th and 15th centuries.
The striking redesigns of the bell storey and the spire after several lightning strikes in 1891, 1974 and 1986 make the Lochen parish church look like a spike in the expansive land below the Tannberg mountain
