Bichl Weather Cross
St. Lorenz am Mondsee, Oberösterreich, Österreich
Permission was granted on 26 April 1940 to consecrate the "Field Cross" to the farmer Radauer of St. Lawrence. Michael and Maria Radauer were the owners of the estate at that time. 1)
In 1990, KMB Mondsee took the initiative for the renewal of the Weather Cross, commissioned painter Schneeweiß to restore the figures and actively helped to restore the Weather Cross. Another restoration was due in 2016. Again painter Schneeweiß - this time already his son - took over the work.
As Friedrich Wistauder was able to report, the cross used to stand with the neighbor, the fisherman. In the Nazi period it had to be dismantled and lay in a barn. After the war a new place was found for it, at first near the present place until it could finally be set up on the current location after several restoration works.
