On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the music band Weyregg in May 1972, the women went out wearingborrowed gold bonnets, which attracted great interest. At an embroidery course, their own gold bonnets were then made. Since then the Goldhaubenfrauen (Gold bonnet woman) have become an integral part of various festivities
They regularly organize exhibitions such as the Christmas tree- or the nativity scene exhibitions but also courses. Since 1986, the annual “Trachtensonntag” is held in June. During lent, the Goldhaubenfrauen organize a way of the cross, may devotions and a Rorate in December.
During the Amalia festivities (10th of July), the Goldhaubenfrauen prepare traditionally Austrian doughnuts, “pofesen”, coffee and cake. They also have three beds available for the ill of Weyregg.
Furthermore, they support Pater Alfred in Bolivia with financial donations.
A further enrichment is the well-documented chronicle. All the flowers decorating the Welcome-signs around Weyregg are looked after by the Goldhaubenfrauen as well as the graves of the pastors.
The 2000 “Weyregger Sommerdirndl” was also designed by the Goldhaubenfrauen and is popular amongst the residents of Weyregg.
