Union-Chor Lambach

These goals are the driving force behind the long choral history of the Union-Chor Lambach, which was founded in 1980 by its current choirmaster, Konsulent Hans Haslinger.

In addition to the cultivation of Austrian folk songs, the choir can look back on very successful concerts on various themes. These include foreign choral music, spirituals, musical melodies, opera and operetta excerpts and film music. Sacred music and masses by great composers can also be found in the choir's repertoire.

Highlights of the year are the Christmas carols in the refectory of Lambach Abbey and the spring concerts, which are very popular with audiences.

The collaboration with renowned Upper Austrian composers and authors such as Friedolin Dallinger, Alfred Hochedlinger and Hans Dieter Mairinger is particularly noteworthy. In addition to around a dozen choral works, the choir has premièred six major cantatas by the aforementioned composers.

The choir is also known for its travelling and participation in international choir festivals. Over the course of 36 years, successful performances have taken place in 15 European countries, as well as in Argentina and Brazil. As a result, joint concerts with choirs from other countries have been organised time and again.
