Already since 1950 the A-4411 Christkindl Post Office opens its doors.
Since 1950, about two million letters and cards stamped with the special Christkindl postmark have been sent around the world each year before Christmas.

Domestic

For the hand-stamped postmark:
Paste a postmark and the golden “Via Christkindl“ sticker on each letter (available for € 1.- at every post office in Austria).

From outside Austria
Put your unstamped Christmas post into a prepaid envelope addressed to the Christkindl post office A-4411. Please enclose one international reply coupon per letter/card (available at every post office).

Children’s letters to the Christ child

Letters sent by children from all over the world to the Christ child are forwarded to the Christkindl Christmas post office where they are answered by standardised letters.

In order to make it easier for the Christ child to answer their letters, children in Austria are requested to enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope and children writing from outside Austria a self-addressed, unstamped envelope and an international reply coupon with their letters.
