As early as 1387, there was talk of brewing by the Zelkinger family, the first lords of Weinberg Castle.
The brewery at Weinberg Castle with its new copper brewing kettle is listed in the manorial records from 1592 and valued at 1200 FL in the manorial assessment of 1650.
Since 1989, the Schlossbrauerei Weinberg - First Upper Austrian Inn Brewery has been located in the historic stables of the 400-year-old Meierhof. The Weinberger Schlossbräu light and dark with an original wort of 11.8° and an alcohol content of 4.5% is brewed directly in the guest rooms from clean Weinberg spring water, Mühlviertel hops and malt.
The special thing about our beer:
Commercial beers are artificially preserved and made transportable by filtering, stabilising and pasteurising. As a result, they lose their wholesomeness and valuable ingredients.
We do not use such methods, so our natural, unfiltered beer retains all its precious vitamins, ferments and trace elements. Without seeing the light of day, without long transport routes and at a constant temperature, it goes directly from the storage cellar to the bar.
