The European municipality of Gallneukirchen, located in the lower Mühlviertel, belongs politically to the district of Urfahr-Umgebung and was first mentioned in a document in 1125. In recent years, Gallneukirchen has developed into a very popular residential community. Its proximity to the provincial capital Linz (15 km) is a plus point.
