Experience the once flourishing craft of nail-smithing in Dambach up close in this showroom.
The last active nail smithy in Dambach was run by master craftsman Josef Brettenthaler and his sons Kilian and Wilhelm until 1954. In order to be able to show this old craft to future generations, a show workshop was opened in 1998 as part of the regional exhibition.
Visitors can watch the professionals at work in the workshop, which has been rebuilt according to the original plans, and forge a nail themselves using a spring hammer.
The nail forge is ideal for group excursions - there are also great hiking opportunities in the surrounding area.
