The national park visitors centre at the Wurbauerkogel impresses with ist unique panorama tower and the exhibition „Fascination Rock“ is definately worth seeing – now also barrier-free!

The focus of the exhibition is on the unusual and remarkable flora and fauna above the tree line. In addition, you will find out from new experience stations why there are more butterflies in the Kalkalpen National Park than in any other protected area in Austria and how the mountain forest will change as a result of climate change. The observation deck of the 21-meter high tower offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountain panorama of the Windischgarst valley: Totes Gebirge, Haller Walls and Sengsengebirge almost to attack.
Open May 21-24, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
May 30 to November 1, 2020: daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
July 4 to September 13, 2020: daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A9 Highway - exit Roßleithen - B138 direction Windischgarsten - village center - turn left at the municipal office - parking area cable car. Access to the 858m high Wurbauerkogel by chair lift or on foot along marked walking trails (walking time about 45min, approx 250m of altitude), by car or on bike.
Completely suitable for wheelchairs. The object complies with the legally stipulated ÖNORM.
