Piberstein castle is a spacious complex built around a solid rock.

A sprawling and irregular complex. Around a rock, the core of the castle was built, the irregular Palas pushes with two sides of the grown rock and encloses a small courtyard with arbors. An open archway leads to the middle courtyard, where a staircase leads up to the arcades. From there you get to the living rooms, as far as they are accessible. On the outer wall of Torbauwerkes are two Abteritterker. Therefore, it can be assumed that the wide courtyard was originally a ditch, which was only filled when the outer enclosure wall with its battery towers was laid out. On this outer wall the commercial buildings are added to the right of the foremost entrance. On the left next to the gate tower projecting from the wall line, there is a chapel built in 1730 that is not directly related to the castle.

Opening hours

Visit by appointment for groups of 10 or more.

The castle will be open again on beautiful Sunday afternoons from 26th May to 13th October from 2pm to 5pm. Take this opportunity for a walk or a trip.
