Pilgrimage Church of Maria Bründl

- Suitable for groups
The tiny Pilgrimage Church of Maria Bründl was erected in ornamental Baroque style in the years 1719 to 1722.
A small tree-lined road links the village of Raab with the formerly popular place of pilgrimage. The Chapel of Grace, the Rosary Staircase, the Pilgrimage Church and the Beneficiary Home create a typically Upper Austrian scene of a sacred structure on a hilltop, surrounded by trees and is a sight that can be seen for miles around.
Maria Bründl soon became a popular place of pilgrimage in the Baroque era for a variety of reasons: Healing was to be found in the sacred blend of healing water, that could be gathered from the adjoining spring. What´s more, there was the faith in the Virgin Mary's healing power and the patronage of rich residents of Raab and the Counts of Tattenbachs, who supported the community with various foundations and donations.
The healing powers of the Spring were recognized when a local maiden bathed her damaged feet in the water in 1645 and received healing.
