Dr. Kriechbaum Steps
Braunau am Inn, Oberösterreich, Österreich
- All weather
Dr. med. Dr. phil. Eduard Kriechbaum was honorary citizen of Braunau! Between the houses Altstadt number 16 (a remarkable late-gothic building with Rokkoko-windows and a fresco from Aloys Wach) and Kirchenplatz number 10, there are steps which lead to the nearby recreational area of the Inn meadows.
These steps were built in 1957 into a space that broke out of the city wall, which leads directly to the embarkment.
DDr. Kriechbaum did a lot for the national education, local history and geography. He did not only work as a doctor in Braunau, Ranshofen and St. Peter, he also did several lectures in Austria and bordering countries and found time to publish 400 documents.
