A place of history - The Museum Arbeitswelt Steyr is housed in two listed factory buildings from the 19th century.

Housed in two listed factory buildings from the 19th century, the first Austrian labor museum has developed since its opening in 1987 into an internationally renowned exhibition, culture, and event center. With annually changing exhibitions, contemporary cultural mediation offerings, and a diverse event program, visitors can engage with questions about the past, present, and future of work and life.

  • "The Path to February 1934" is presented in a unique elaboration of the regional social history in the Ennsleite district with display panels.

BICYCLE

The Steyrtal Cycle Path (R8) and the Ennstal Cycle Path (R7) run through Steyr. The Steyrtal Cycle Path passes right by the museum. Several public bike parking facilities are available directly at the museum near the guest garden. More information about the cycle paths can be found here:

TRAIN

Getting here by Austrian Federal Railways is possible via Linz or St. Valentin. From there, there are direct connections to Steyr every hour. From the train station in Steyr, the best way to reach the museum is by taxi or on foot (walking time approx. 10 minutes). ÖBB timetable

Steyr is easily accessible by bus from Linz and various surrounding locations. The bus terminal is located at the train station in Steyr.
