The Parish Church of Pregarten is a superb example of neo Gothic architecture and was erected between 1893 and 1897. The design was entrusted to Otto Schirmer, one of the most eminent church architects of his generation.

The nave has three aisles. The splendid interior draws much appreciative comment from visitors and history experts.

The church´s most striking and noticeable feature is the perfect and harmonious blend of architecture and interior furnishing. The exterior walls are made of quarry stone masonry.

There has been a church in Pregarten earlier on the Market Square. It was demolished in the year 1903. Today, a Mary´s Column reminds of the original church on the very site.
