The Ursuline Church is located directly on Linzer Landstraße and is dedicated to the Archangel Michael.
Directly in the city centre is the church and the former convent of the Ursulines, today's Ursulinenhof. The convent was abandoned by the Ursulines in 1968, acquired by the province of Upper Austria in 1973 and developed into a provincial cultural centre.

The Ursuline Church of St. Michael was begun in 1736 and consecrated in 1757.
The architect was the Linz master builder Johann Haslinger, the curved façade with the double towers with figural decoration by Franz Ignaz Mähl and Ignaz Hiebel was completed in 1770 - 1772. Inside, the single-nave church is decorated with sculptures by Mähl. The high altar is by Johann Matthias Krinner, the altarpiece with St. Michael is by Martino Altomonte.
