Pancrace Painting at the Parish Church of Herzogsdorf. The former altarpiece, a "Nazarene style work of art", now towers the vestry entrance and shows the church´s patron saint Pancrace.
The beautiful altarpiece depicts St Pancrace floating high above the gently rolling foothills of Mühlviertel Region and Danube Valley. The window was created by the Viennese artist Ludwig Steiner in 1836. This drawing in particular shows the peculiar austerity and severity of the Nazarene style of painting in Mühlviertel Region.
